So I don’t know if this newly instated dress code put a damper on peoples dress choices but boy was I disappointed with the red carpet this year. I was really struggling to find anything I liked. So my best/worst dressed list is only a best dressed this time as I would fill pages of worst dressed guests
Rihanna in Azzedine Alaia
Ri Ri took this one by a landslide! It was nice seeing her look so effortlessly stunning. The flowing dress, the loose curls, it all looked very ethereal.
Katy Perry in Gucci
So Katy decided to accessorize this mint green gown with, well, boobs. Now this was a bit of a risk, not many can pull off mint green on the red carpet, and that cleavage border-lined on dress code misconduct. But with her dark hair and green eyes, the colour looked nice on her. The cleavage was just the perfect amount of “puffy skin” to show off with the rest of the dress covering her up.
Carrie Underwood in Roberto Cavalli
Again, I never love black on the red carpet but that sure seemed to be a trend at the Grammys this year, along with designs by Roberto Cavalli. Carrie always looks so beautiful though, and I love the details on the dress. I also love that she tweeted days before that she had her fitting and loved what she picked and felt very comfortable and confident in it. Confidence is key!
Florence Welch in Givenchy Haute Couture
How can Florence wear anything other than something that is custom made for her? Florence, and only Florence could pull off a dress like this. The colour is perfect with her red hair, the fit compliments her figure and the spikes are just that little edge a woman like her needs.
That’s all I got folks! Thank God The Academy Awards are only a couple weeks away to bring me out of my Grammy fashion depression.
